Beautiful projects!! I look forward to seeing your progress this year. I notice you use the parking technique. Do you have any instructions on how to do it. There were instructions years back on the golden kite web site but they are gone now and I would like to learn how to do it. Especially how you keep the different threads straight. The best to you this year.
Hi Sylvia. Basically after I complete a color on a row, I park the threaded needle in the next lower row where it appears. I don't skip more than 1 inch, so that's either 22 or 25 stitches. I use a highlighter on my pattern to color what I've already stitched. If that color doesn't show up again (within my 1 inch limit), I just end it. Every so often, I check to make sure I'm using the right color and not getting confused, but I figure with designs this complicated, even if I'm off by one or two stitches it won't ruin things. I think there are videos on You Tube that might explain this better than I just did!
Hi, I found your blog on SFS You allso work on huge projects just like me and i see that you allso keep track of your stitching hours :) Love to wach your progress on the haeds I started my firts haed in 2013 and that obe has allready more then 1000 hours of stitching so far It probably takes another 3000 to finish this giant project. Below is my link to my blog Just started blogging end of dec 2014 http://dyndns.xs4all.nl/kezelingstitches/
I haven't done my cross stitch in forever. You have inspired me to keep going on my Mirabilia fairy. I have done one already and a mermaid and am doing a second fairy and the ice angel. Absolutely adore their designs.
